Mike Klund Endorsed By Corrupt Mehlville Firefighters Union IAFF Local 1889

"But while Local 1889 has contributed money to both groups (Mike for Mehlville Fire and Friends of Mehlville Fire District), Capt. Nick Fahs, the union's Executive Board president, told the Call Thursday that the union has not formally endorsed Klund for election.

Asked if the union planned to do so before the election, Fahs said, "No ... We have union meetings this weekend, but it's not really on the agenda though." Call Newspapers 4-1-11

The below letter was posted on the IAFF Local 73 website (St. Louis firefighter's union for White firemen, African-Americans are represented by FIRE) by the corrupt Mehlville firefighters union Local 1889's executive board. As the Call reported above, union president Nick Fahs even LIED about  Local 1889's endorsement of their puppet candidate Mike Klund.

What is also interesting about this letter is that if you download it and check the "properties" of the file you will discover that it came from the computer of disgraced former Local 1889 secretary Jerri Fleschert who was terminated from employment from Mehlville FPD for harassing a fellow union member. Ms. Fleschert served on Local 1899's executive board with former vice president James Kornhardt who is presently serving life in prison for a murder for hire scheme. In fact in 2005 Local 1889 recruited Kornhardt's co-conspirator, Steven Mueller to run against Aaron Hilmer for Director. Steven Mueller is also serving a life sentence. The lies from Nick Fahs and Local 1889 continue.......

JOSEPH J. GATERMAN
PRESIDENT EMERITUS

INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF FIREFIGHTERS
LOCAL 1889
P.O. BOX 510499 ST. LOUIS, MO 63151

Brothers and Sisters,

As you know, Local 1889 have been battling a hostile board for the last six years. We have seen our pension decimated, and a president and secretary terminated. While we lose countless benefits and good employees, they are spending down our reserves at an alarming rate. They build unneeded fire houses and spend $600,000 on a rescue squad while not knowing how they are going to replace our outdated SCBA’s. They have bought so many new staff vehicles, that there are now more vehicles than staff to drive them. At the same time, we have multiple ambulances on the streets with over 100,000 miles on them with no replacement plan.

Fortunately, we have a chance to start turning things around before it gets to late. This April, Board Chairman Aaron Hilmer’s position is up for election. We have a firefighter/fire department friendly candidate running named Mike Klund and he is first on the ballot. As you know, it takes two things to win an election: money and votes. Mr. Klund has already had a successful fund raiser and now we are coming to you for help with votes. If you live in the Mehlville district, please get your families out to vote. If you have family and friends in the district, please contact them and remind them to vote. If anyone cannot vote on Election Day, please encourage them to vote absentee by going to (web site info) and downloading the form. They will need a copy of their I.D. to mail with the form.

Mr. Hilmer has shown that he is no friend of unions or public employees. He stated in a public interview that the unions have bastardized the fire service. He testified in Jefferson City in favor of eliminating the public school teacher’s pension plan. He promoted a man to chief who had quit this local shortly before being promoted to captain.

Local 1889 are committed to defeating Mr. Hilmer and electing Mike Klund this April. We would appreciate any and all help you can give us in this effort. Thank you in advance for all of your help. If you have any questions, or perhaps a yard sign placement, please call us at 314-805-FIRE.

Once again, thank you and stay safe,

Local 1889 Executive Board and its membership
